Just came across this great article from Her Campus Skidmore. Thanks for the shout out!
Lucia (454 Broadway)- Without a doubt, this shop is a favorite. While the tops and bags can be somewhat expensive on the rack, there are often many spectacular sales of which you can take advantage. The jewelry and accessories, however, are what really draws Skidmore females. A selection of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and scarves can range from fifteen to thirty five dollars and vary between fancy and casual, everyday wear. The staff is friendly and helpful and shopping there is always enjoyable. If you need a way belated holiday gift for your roommate or a place to drop hints to your boyfriend/any other form of significant other for the big V-day, you cannot go wrong with Lucia.
Living my life-long dream is the only way to describe owning Lucia. I grew up being immersed in retail, my parents owned a successful something-for-everyone store, Mabou, for over thirty years in Saratoga. Since I was tall enough to reach in to the jewelry cases, I knew I was destined to have my own store. My training was the best of the best. My mother finally let me attend the trade shows when I was 13 and I can remember looking over at the clothing section with a longing feeling to buy buy buy. Attending FIT in New York and AUR in Rome, I studied Fashion Merchandising and began to envision what Lucia is today. I'm now living in downtown Saratoga with my husband, Rory and our wonderful black lab Ruby, enjoying everyday with fashion, food, music and love.
